BRITTANY IMPROTE | PASTRY CHEF

Hi! My name is Brittany and my goal is to make every occasion a sweeter one! My passion of baking began at a young age with my grandmother in the comfort of her home. We would experiment with new recipes while keeping the years of traditions with family recipes that were passed on from generations. Before attending culinary school in 2012, I did freelance baking out of my home. Let me not forget to mention that I was also the one with the most important job in my family- the one responsible for bringing the dessert to every gathering. While attending Culinary School, I had the opportunity of a lifetime to intern at a bakery in Florence, Italy. During that time, I not only learned the art of traditional italian recipes but also gained experience of working in a bakery setting. After graduating culinary school, I worked at various bakeries, hotels and country clubs. In 2016, the head bread baker position at a Bakery/Cafe fell into my lap. I created miniature desserts like cakes, tarts, truffles and pies. Also focused heavily on learning and mastering the art of croissant and other laminated doughs. Baking a loaf of bread is truly satisfying from start to finish, but I also missed the artistic side of baking. When the 2020 pandemic hit I found myself, like many others, having a lot more time on my hands. I was feeling very inspired to make cakes again for family and friends. Never thinking that it would evolve into a cake business, but it did! I have my family and a very good friend Raymond to thank for the start of Cakes by Brittany. It is my absolute pleasure to share my creations with all of you. With my products, I strive to provide my clients with not only something beautiful, but delicious. From small gatherings to weddings, to just wanting something sweet to boost your mood, I want to help create something custom to your taste and the season.
